Charity Fundraising and Cancer Trust - April 09

SINGING sensation
Craig David returned to his home town of Southampton to support a charity fundraising appeal that
IDS UK has backed with a £1,500 donation.
Craig officially opened a two-bed unit funded by Teenage Cancer Trust and added his support to the £1m appeal to fund a 10-bed unit at Southampton General Hospital.
“It's really touching to meet people who are 22 and dealing with cancer – I'm only 27 myself so it really brings it home,” he said.
Instead of sending Christmas cards in 2008, IDS UK gave the money to the Southampton appeal.
Chief Executive Officer, Ed Pickering said: “This is such a great cause and one that is close to many people's hearts. It's really important for companies like IDS UK to back appeals like this – the new unit will make a huge difference to how teenagers are looked after during their cancer treatment,” he said.
