Molnlycke Praises IDS UK for Dramatic Increase in Sales - August 08
A MAJOR campaign to raise awareness of infection control has seen a dramatic increase in sales of the anti-bacterial wash that surgeons use to scrub-up.
When Molnlycke decided to make Hibiscrub available to a wider audience, they chose the services of Hampshire based IDS UK to get their message across.
International Business Development Manager Steve Evans explained how having their leaflets in 6000 doctors surgeries was central to the success of the launch of their Hibiscrub campaign – and it has certainly paid off for them.
“In terms of volume of increase, the number of units sold went up by 60 to 70 per cent in that first period. This far exceeded our expectations and was better than we had hoped,” he said.
Hibiscrub has been promoted to the public as a whole body wash for pre-op patients – and having leaflets in doctors' surgeries lent credibility to the campaign, explained Mr Evans.
As well as having their leaflets in surgeries, the Hibiscrub campaign formed part of IDS UK’s new Help2Health service in pharmacies throughout the UK – and now Molnlycke is planning its future coverage.
“We are going to carry on through the rest of the year and 2009 in surgeries and we are looking to carry on with our presence in pharmacies next year too,” he said.
Mr Evans has been so delighted with the response created using IDS UK services, he is happy to encourage others to follow his lead.
“For anyone in healthcare wanting to promote their product or service, I would recommend having leaflets in doctors’ surgeries and pharmacies. We know it works,” he said.
Business Development Manager, Sarah O’Reilly said she was delighted IDS UK had been able to help promote such an important campaign.
“We are really pleased to have this positive feedback from Steve and we look forward to working with Molnlycke for many years to come,” she said.
