IDS UK leaflet campaign for Chestnut Tree House - July 08

FUNDRAISING for a children's hospice in Sussex is being highlighted in 100 doctors surgeries during July thanks to a special promotion with IDS UK.

Chestnut Tree House is the only children’s hospice in Sussex and cares for children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses from all over the county.

Communications Manager Janet Parsons said: We are so grateful to IDS UK for their support in helping us provide information to families who might need the specialist care Chestnut Tree House can provide as well as raising awareness of the hospice right across Sussex.”

Completed in 2003, the hospice provides a ‘home from home’ environment with 10 children’s bedrooms plus 8 family rooms, a wet and dry play area, computer and music rooms, a multi sensory room and hydrotherapy pool. The house is set in beautiful gardens within an area of outstanding natural beauty.

There are potentially 400 families with life-limited children in Sussex. Chestnut Tree House offers support for the whole family including psychological support, care in bereavement therapy, end of life and respite care and sibling support.

The hospice costs approximately £2 million per year to run. Families are not charged for their care and the hospice receives hardly any government funding at all, so it relies completely on the generosity, help and support of the people of Sussex .

IDS UK Sales Manager, Patrick Connor explained: “We are delighted to be working with Chestnut Tree House to promote the good work that they do for so many families and also to encourage people to support the charity.”

Leaflet stands managed by IDS UK can be found in 6,000 doctors surgeries throughout the UK and more than 750 pharmacies have signed up to have leaflet stands in their premises.

“This is a great way for charities to get their message across to a focused audience. Every day we are hearing from charities and organisations that have seen direct benefits from having their leaflets displayed in our stands ,” said Mr. Connor.
